Community Involvement in Tuscaloosa

Tuscaloosa pet community

We take great pride in our dedication to Tuscaloosa, Northport and the surrounding communities. The staff at Indian Hills Animal Clinic has been recognized for helping Tuscaloosa tornado victims with pet treatment, hospitalization and long-term boarding by the American Veterinary Medical Foundation. Our staff has also volunteered many hours providing food and water to tornado victims and rescue workers.

The Tuscaloosa veterinary team participates in school career programs and science classes. Once a Boy Scout himself, Dr. Smith assists his local Boy Scout troop to earn merit badges in pet health and related subject areas.

In connection with the Tuscaloosa Veterinary Medical Association, Dr. Smith sponsors low cost Rabies clinics throughout the county. Outside of the community, he has been traveling annually for over 20 years to Skagway, Alaska where he provides medical care for residents' pets. Dr. Smith also shares his desire to help others by assisting with pet care during Africa mission trips.

Indian Hills Animal Clinic also participates in Metro Animal Shelter’s Pet Adoption Program by providing free pet exams. In addition, we work with T-SNIP to spay and neuter feral cats throughout the area.
